They most likely have a behavioral problem, rather than an inherited or learned response, that might be corrected with a little understanding and constructive training. Michelle Miller is a volunteer at Contra Costa Animal Services Department in Martinez. She has always loved animals and grew up with a dog that taught her how to train an animal without yelling or abuse. In college, Michelle studied animal behavior and learned how to observe and train an animal through operant conditioning and using enrichment. Using her background, education and determination, she developed her own method for training a biting, cage-protective bunny, which is now bonded to her. Michelle can help you with your own self-motivated little she-devil or were-rabbit. On Saturday, March 13 from 2-3:30pm, Michelle will teach simple techniques for dealing with your aggressive, nervous, frightened, grumpy, thumping, boxing, biting or downright tyrannical rabbit without blood, sweat or tears! Remember, you can't hit back but you can learn how to defend yourself and retrain your angry bunny. Space is limited, so please phone 510-525-6155 to sign up. Suggested donation is $20 to further rabbit rescue efforts. Saturday, March 20, 1-4pm, Small Critters Adoption Day, meet the guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits and more at RabbitEARS!
