As some of you already know, we are in a transitional period. Judy is retiring, and we’ve founded a charity corporation to preserve and expand on her legacy. In this transition, we can use your help, in as few or as many ways as you are comfortable with. The list below details some of our more pressing needs.
New Facility: Our current location is no longer tenable, for multiple reasons, and we need a new home before the end of the month. Specification is a commercial property, zoned for retail, industrial, or flex. 2000 sq ft, ± 500, at $1.25/sqf/month, and willing to permit bunnies, guinea pigs, etc. to be kept on premises.(for those with animal objections, be advised that you don’t get smells from bunnies etc. that you get from dogs/cats. When you walk into our facility you smell hay.)
Financial Donations: Large or small, one time or recurring, every dollar helps feed bunnies, pay rent, keep lights on, hire and retain staff, and the various other necessities for an animal shelter. Whether you can give five dollars or five thousand, every bit helps. Donations can be made in person via cash, check, or credit card, or via mailed check payable to The EARS Group, Inc.(the official name of the charity). Online donation is now available via our GoFundMe Campaign, Link is in the top menu.
Volunteers: Like most charities, we rely in large part on the kind hearts of our community to pursue our mission. The following are some of the types of volunteer assistance we can use right away.
Business professionals; Anyone willing to donate some time to help with any aspects of business, accounting/bookkeeping, HR compliance, marketing, grant writing, etc. While we are figuring things out as we go, at the very least it would be great if experienced people can verify we are doing things correctly, or help us know what needs changing.
Facility Staff; We are always in need of additional folks to help clean, feed/water, and provide socialization/interaction for our furry residents. Looking for folks who can commit to a regular schedule, for at least two hours, on a particular day of the week or month.
Veterinarian; We could use one or more vets willing to come provide regular exams for our residents.
